A treatise on the northern monkey in his natural habitat

Yes! I warned you and here it is, the first of my Precept interviews!

First up is Gnar, our MT (when i let him have some aggro..) and all around space bar hammering tank in the WoW Division!

Real Name
Robert John Davies

Character Name / Class
Gnarmoo – Warrior Tank (The one true tank class)

What games are you currently playing with Precept?
World of Warcraft

What do you do in Precept?
Im an officer in the WoW faction of Precept. I usually organise a weekly 25man Guild/PuG raid, so is my longing for self punishment. I am driven to improving the guild and usually can be found causing the other officers to pull their hair out with my impatience and desire to achieve:P

How and why did you get involved in Precept?
A long long time ago in a land full of pie eating hobbits and poncy elves there lived a noob guardian by the name of Gnarbryt…….. He joined a guild called Sanctuary, who also had members called Song and Berenind who were miles ahead of everyone else level, gear and content wise and who I admired from afar. They left to join a guild called Precept whilst I was still levelling. I nubbed my way to level 50 and discovered the Ettenmoors!! PvP!!!! I was sold and couldn’t get enough of it. I linked up with a few guys in there called Morfinsel, Alagondar, Tyrra and Gilrael. We got on great and soon became good friends. We started doing Carn Dum, an end game instance which many hadn’t even set foot in. It was there where I truly learnt the role of a tank and will never forget the work needed to keep aggro off dps horny champs…….

In the Ettenmoors one day our usual group decided to try and educate the other *freeps* in there and I was nominated to lead them!! After many a painful night we finally had a decent raid force going, including such regulars as Grisella, Urien, Jordi, Annanraen, Lassaronjohn to name but a few. Whilst all this was going Precept was gaining notoriety for achieving server firsts and not being at all RP orientated!!!!!

I left Sanctuary to join a guild called Northwind Free Company and from that a raiding alliance called the Silverblades was formed. Our members were casual raiders who in time also achieved server firsts and enjoyed a healthy competition with Precept and there alter-ego creep guild Nihilism. I got to know a certain Captain who went by the name of Harkain and we got chatting one day, comparing strats for bosses, etc. I was invited to a Thorog run, a raid boss who had been a bain for SB for some time. We downed him first time and to say I was impressed by the organisation and professionalism compared to the SB casual approach was an understatement. I found my self longing for a more professional raiding outfit and after much coercing by Harkain I decided to join Precept and leave my beloved SB behind, but not forgotten. So in a nutshell blame Harkain……..

What do you do in game?
I’m the MT for Precept in WoW and can usually be found bouncing around in one of the cities or making my fortune at the auction house. I dont do achievements or grinding and as such get easily bored. I have 3 level 80′s including a rarely played mage called Oomgnar and a Druid healer called Hobnobs. When I’m not raiding, bouncing, making money or alting I can be found abusing Incy in guild chat or keeping Song thoroughly entertained with my analysis of gear and stats.

What’s your favourite Precept memory?
Well this has got to be a RL experience. One day in Sweden whilst visiting the lovely Grisella we had arranged to meet up with a few of the Swedish contingent of Precept. I will never forget my first Man-hug off Harkain, my spine is still bent to this day.   Ingame I would have to say joining Precept as a guest for the Thorog run and Song giving me the legendary axe drop.

What do you hope to see in Precept’s future?
I’d like to see us finding a game that we all like and then go on to achieve great things. I’d also like to see DK’s get nerfed so they actually have to work to tank.

Who would you like to see interviewed next?
Ardylol….. tell us Hark’s secrets mate.
