Default Do not stand at my grave and weep

Not really a story, nor mine. Was written by Mary Elizabeth Frye in 1932 and just thought it was rather beautiful so shared

Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am in a thousand winds that blow,
I am the softly falling snow.
I am the gentle showers of rain,
I am the fields of ripening grain.
I am in the morning hush,
I am in the graceful rush
Of beautiful birds in circling flight,
I am the starshine of the night.
I am in the flowers that bloom,
I am in a quiet room.
I am in the birds that sing,
I am in each lovely thing.
Do not stand at my grave bereft
I am not there. I have not left.

    I wept.
Emo tears of black and grey,
Until I saw a hottie pray.
Then all my tears had turned to winks,
And I "attacked" the hottie lynx.

    Song likes poetry?!
    Shock horror..

    Anyhow..

I'll just throw this in - shun bara's poetry and sneak away..

    O Rose, thou art sick!
    The Invisible worm,
    That flies in the night,
    In the howling storm,

    Has found out thy bed
    Of Crimson joy;
    And his dark secret love
    Does thy life destroy.

My personal favourite verse is from Kipling's 'If' :

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
' Or walk with Kings - nor lose the common touch,
if neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,
    If all men count with you, but none too much;

Do not stand at my grave and weep is my mothers favourite poem though ;p
