Name: Jakob
Age: 24
Nationality: Denmark
Character: Thraundil, of the Onarus Legacy
Race: Zabrak
Primary char advanced class: Jedi Sage - currently specced into telekinetics, but I have played both seer and telekinetics both during lvling and at max level. I enjoy both styles, though I currently lean towards telekinetic combat as I just find all the possibilities and the rewarding ability order quite entertaining.
Notable alts: Currently none
Level: 50
Use of Voip solutions for gamers:
I have used both ventrilo, mumble, teamspeak and skype for gaming, though I vastly prefer ventrilo due to the realtively easy setup functions that I find lackluster in especially mumble.
List previous MMO's and your play level in them (ie: raider, pvper, casual etc):
I played the dreaded game of evil, World of Warcraft, for a number of years. Here follow a rough chronological rundown;
Feral tank - entire TBC, including M'uru serverfirst prenerf. In addition first two raidtiers of LK expansion, including the 10-man meta, and triple dragon kill on both 10 and 25 as limited time resto druid. Took break from raiding and servertransferred to a pvp server here.
Feral battlecat, 2400 2v2 rating in season whatever the season just before 2v2 was demoted was, as feral + restoshaman.
Protection paladin - ICC10, including full hardmode clear.
Feral tank - bastion of twilight + blackrock descent, including a few hardmodes, but the 10-man guild I was in got executed by summer exam preparation and I decided to quit the game alltogether.
Explain WHY you want to join Precept (be as detailed as possible):
I ran into a member of Precept in a warzone (or rather 3 members, one of which was Norca). We won uncharasteristically fast, and I asked him what to do to be on Precepts "invite for pvp when we need guys" list. One thing let to another, he linked me this homepage, and I read abit about the guilds plans and goals. I then returned into the game to ask Norca about your raiding schedule, as I have tried before to have a very limited "real life" due to being sucked into a vicious cycle of hardcore raiding, and I was not about to make that same mistake. I play SW:TOR on a relaxed level, 2 or 3 hours a day during the week and maybe 4 or 5 hours a day some weekend days (though not nessecarily every day), yet when I do play I devote myself fully to the task at hand. My playtime would of course be extended to fit a raiding schedule on the raiding nights.
When Norca explained that Precept raids 2 nights a week, and do casual PvP on the side, I said to him "that sounds perfect", and he replied "why yes, we are". And so I decided to dot down an application, because I enjoy experiencing the endgame, and I feel that is something I will not have the chance to do in my current, semi active roleplaying guild (We have not even run a flashpoint in 4 days due to not enough members online), which has all but 4 level 50 members so far, me being one of them (although admittedly, I have been lvl 50 only for a week).
This also carries the unfortunate consequence that my gear may be a bit lackluster compared to what you guys are used to. If this ends up being the deciding factor in an eventual rejection, rest assured I fully understand this. So far I have tried to get the best gear in the time I have had available to me - not gear for the sake of gear, but gear for the sake of enhancing play experience and possibilities, mind. It is not overly impressive, but I have managed to scrape together little over 1200 willpower unbuffed, with 6,2% speed, 26,7% crit and 69% crit damage. I am in the process of getting all my mods up to purple status.
Explain WHAT you want from Precept (be as honest as possible):
Well this one is hopefully more simple to read than the above paragraph (hey, you said to be honest!). I want to experience the endgame with you, without sinking into a bottomless pit of no social life on the side. I also like to do casual PvP on the side. I believe that what I have heard of you so far, fullfills just these wishes. In return, I offer my own experience as a fairly "skilled" MMO player.
Something about real-life:
I'm Jakob, a 24 year old geek from Denmark. Geek in the truest meaning of the word; I do tabletop roleplaying, I have LOTR posters on my wall, I read Star Wars (and back then, WoW) lore for fun, I practise archery in my spare time, and I study chemistry currently working on my PhD. This also carries the consequence that there will, undoubtedly, be weeks where I am in the lab until late hours, and weeks where I need to finish grading a stack of student assignments. I hope this is also something Precepts schedule is flexible enough to include![]()
I think those are the words! I look forward to hearing from you.
